In September this year we were able to start our project to open up the back of the church by removing two rows of pews and their associated plinth. This will make a valuable open area for coffee after church as well as providing a much better space for family christenings and many other events in church.
The church was out of action for a couple of weeks while all the dusty work was done. Everything which needed to be protected had been covered in dust sheets and on Thursday October 3rd the great cleanup took place. We were greatly blessed by the loan of some industrial vacuum cleaning equipment by James Anderson of Anderson Electrical Trade Ltd. This meant we were able to remove some persistent cobwebs from the roof area - a job we had been wanting to do for a long time. Thank you James!
A very big thank you to all those who gave their time and energy to this big job. The church looks wonderful and the new open area at the back is already looking its part and will be very useful in the years to come.
Well done everyone!Click on a picture to see the full size gallery
