‘Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path’.
I can’t quite believe I’m having to write to inform you that from today, Tuesday 17th March 2020, that all midweek and Sunday services in the Church of England have been suspended until further notice.
The Archbishops of Canterbury and York have produced a joint letter which was published this afternoon and can be found in full on the Church of England website.
For us at St Paul’s this means we will not be gathering for worship together for potentially quite some time. We are being encouraged to find new ways of being church together, which may mean turning to digital resources, using apps and watching live-streaming of services.
If you’d like to join a St Paul’s ‘whatsapp’ group please get in touch with your mobile no so we can add you onto the list- you will need to download this app onto your phone.
If you are self-isolating, please let us know so we can at least pray for you. If you need assistance – shopping or would like a friendly phone call please let us know just call or email.
We will still be able to officiate at funerals -although there are some additional protocols that we will need to follow.
Please remember to be kind to one another and keep in touch. May we be generous in our phone calls and messages of support to one another!
Yours in faith,
Vicar of St Nicholas, Allestree & St Paul’s Quarndon
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Let's continue to pray for the health of one another as well as peace in our communities. Let's also remember to keep practising good hygiene.
